Did anyone go up Army Pass over the past weekend? We are going to be using the pass on thursday. I saw a post regarding it a few weeks back, was just wondering if there was current info!

Matt, snow hangs on that north-facing steep slope much longer than the switchbacks on the main Mt Whitney trail. I would expect to encounter it through all of July.

New Army Pass is south-facing, so should be pretty well melted out by now.

It is still passable though right? The last post I read from a few weeks back said they were able to pass without ice gear. I should expect the same (or better) conditions don't you think?
