I will be ascending Whitney in early June and was hoping to get some practice on White Mountain Peak. I was wondering if anyone knows what conditions are like at the current time--too much snow? Are the roads open? Also accepting any other suggestions for preparation in the northern half of the state. Thanks!

If you call the Inyo NF White Mountain ranger station, they might have information for you.
