Well, I fly to Tanzania on Saturday.

After a few days to recover from the flights and adjust to the new time zone, a 4 day climb of Mt Meru awaits.

Which is a warmup for a 8 day trek up Kilimanjaro.

Thankfully, I don't have to carry all my gear on these treks. smile

It won't be a tiny step by tiny step commentary, but I might occasionally throw some small status updates up on my website if anyone is interested. http://wandering.earth

On our summit attempt of Mt. Whitney on Sept. 11 there was a group of 7 hikers who let us tag along with them while it was still dark( we had gotten off the trail twice). One of those hikers who was really helpful runs a company that arranges trips up Kilimanjaro. Don't remember his name but if you are going with his company tell him the older couple from North Carolina says hi.

Success!!

Weather was a bit off and on, but I successfully summited Mt Meru and Mt Kilimanjaro!!

I'll post a full report and photo links when I can go through the thousands of photos I took (just got back to California yesterday).

22 days in Tanzania...

4 days on Mt Meru...

8 days on Mt Kilimanjaro…

4 days on Safari…

Over 7,000 pictures taken...

It was hard…

It was exhausting…

It pushed my body to it’s limits… and beyond…

BUT IT WAS WORTH IT!!!
