If you have never experienced the Pomp & Circumstance of a military event
this should impress you. Regardless of branch of service, if you have been
there, it will both bring back memories and make you proud of these young
warriors and their sacrifices for our great nation. Obviously this is a
solemn event in which families of fallen warriors are honored. This slide
show may take more than one watching to ensure full attention to both the
pictures and the song. Not just on Memorial Day, but every day, remember
all those warriors that have made the supreme sacrifice and thank all those
veterans and current warriors committed to protecting each and every one of
us.

Something to share on this up coming Memorial day.

This was an informal dinner not the Marine Corps Ball. Just something the
"Marines" do

This slide show consists of photos taken at a formal dinner at the National
Museum of the Marine Corps in Quantico, VA.

It is a beautiful presentation of the honor, commitment and pride today's
heroes share with yesterday's. Some of the things many in this country have
forgotten.

AND I know Chris and her Boy Scouts will be out at Ft Rosecrans National Cemetery in the San Diego area on Monday to honor our heros buried there.

Sorry, Lynn, I disagree with informal. We Marines are formal all the way. We put on the Dress Blues and it become formal. It is what we do to remember our fallen comrades. Just pulling your chain, Lynn.

Dang, and you beat me to it, too! But, touche, Lynn, thank you very much for posting this. You are a remarkable person.

Billy Ray Cyrus knows how to tug at the heart.

For those who saw the slide show, you noticed some Marines in camouflage with a white name tag on their backs. Those soon-to-be Marines are officer candidates from the Officers Candidate School in Quantico, VA. Ductos Exemplo.

As for me, this will be my fourth Memorial Day and this September will be the fifth anniversary of my son who "gave all."

Also, it will be time for me to remember my two half-brothers who also "gave all" during the Vietnam War.

Hope some of you get the chance to visit Arlington during the Memorial Day weekend. Be sure to bring a handkerchief.

If you see it on television, crank up the volume and listen...

For those who cannot be at Arlington, please attend any memorial service. When they play the Marine Corps Hymn, please stand with those Marines who be at the position of attention. Better yet, please stand for all the services.
