snow in the desert... don't see it down that low very often.
It'll be 100%+ percent of normal snowpack in the southern Sierra when this storm is done, and it's only January.

yes, but we are at over 100% for April 1 as well. On Jan 20, it was 95% for the southern Sierra. But I guess we were looking at almost the same graph

Maybe that section of the trail before the Whitney Zone will be closed off due with all of this snow and you have to "ice axe" it.
