As a brief trail conditions report, the rivers are extremely swollen (who would have guessed!?), snow covers most of the trail after the Kaweah Gap up to when you hit the river again, Precipice is completely frozen still. Guitar lake is accessible and snow free, and the end of the trail (the JMT) is very well maintained. Kern river is so flooded that we lost the trail for a couple hours and completely missed Kern Hot Springs.

You just inspired me! I am hiking Mt. Whitney for the first time the 4-5th! I am super excited and have been wanting to do something exactly like you just did for an extremely long time! Your photography was amazing! I am sure the pictures don't do justice to the true beauty of everything you saw, but you did a dam good job of trying!

I can only hope one or two of my pictures come out half as good as you documentation of the journey. How many miles a day were you hiking? Just curious, trying to talk my wife into taking on a similar trip. Looking forward to the trip report.

Great photo set! What sharpness setting do you have on the Cannon? Did you use a third party sharpness filter when you processed them?
