Wow - what a story. Glad he is doing ok.
Poor guy, how scary this ordeal must have been for him to be so sick and high on a mountain. I bet home never looked so good, better yet, I bet a chopper never looked so good in his entire life.
This is a tough situation for the victim and all his friends.
Glad I am "only" a Type II Diabetic and do not (yet) have to take insulin. Have climbed for years over 14k with no problems (yet)
Great job getting him down, what a mess. I threw up like that coming down Whitney ( maybe not as bad ), but I drank 2 beers on the summit. MISTAKE.
It's interesting how altitude magnifies a crisis so - I think this is part of the reason the super-high mountaineering doesn't really appeal to me ( and I don't have tons of cash to make it happen either ).
