I am heading out of Horseshoe Meadows in the morning, hoping to cross Crabtree Pass on Sunday. Weather forecast is for sunny and clear weather. I think I hit that right.
Depending on how my bones hold up, I'll either encircle Whitney, or return to Horseshoe Meadows.

Looks like I'll miss you by a few hours - I'm heading up with my wife tomorrow for her first backpacking trip up to cottonwood lakes. Going to stay at one of the trail head walk in sites on Friday night and then up to the lakes on Saturday.
Weather: Yes! Looking forward to this cloudy with afternoon t-storms pattern clearing out.

Looks like Steve hit the Portal about 1:30pm yesterday. Hopefully he'll be home soon to clean up WZ (and also to post a trip report).

psyko: No vacation goes unpunished. I have so many crazy things going on that I can't find the time! (leaky pipes to fix, etc, etc.) I found out yesterday that I lost 5 lbs in 5 days due to the AMS loss of appetite. I'll eventually post pictures and a report. At least I have downloaded my pics to my computer. Still need to do the same with the Spot track.
In a word, the hike was... Grueling!
