Mt Whitney Zone
Well it's been a while in the making, but I finally got the nerve to test White Mountain Road with my mini-van. It did fine...all those years of back and forth for nothing. Anyways, a pretty straight forward trip to the summit with beautiful weather from the general Trailhead...saw a ton of marmots and even a herd of Bighorn Sheep. I did not take Diamox this time, as my last bout with it ended with severe nausea before the trip even began. I slept in the car at the Birstlecone Visitor Center at 10,100' the night before, and went from there for acclimatization. So, after Whitney and Langley, this is my third 14er...the "easy" ones are down...now for the big boys. Anyhow, enjoy the trip report!

Good report, great pictures! Lucky you seeing the bighorn sheep!

Was the hut just open, or was someone there working around it?
Thank you, I had a great time. First time I had seen Bighorns so I was quite excited. No workers were up there, but the door was unlocked.
What a wonderful trip report. The sheep were a bonus for sure!
