I did the MR today. There was no one else on the route today except a guide with a client who I saw coming down. The chute has around 200' of easy to traverse snow toward the top - I crossed with just poles and no crampons. I avoided the heavy snow at the bottom of the chute by taking the dry class 3/4 on climber's left. The Final 400 has a dry class 3 section on climber's right - the middle is still filled with snow and suspect it will be snowy for a while. Pics below.

Thanks for the trip report and excellent photos.

I am headed to the Mountaineer's route next Friday and wondering:
1. How were the stream crossings (both the 2 before the ledges and one after Lower Boy Scout late)?

2. Did you come down the Mountaineer's route or the main trail? If the Mountaineer's route, any advice on how you managed from the summit down the chute?

Stream crossings were a non-event.

I came down the MR. I like doing it as a loop. The descent down the MR isn't so kind on the knees.

Thanks for the trip report and nice photos! What is the 2nd to last picture? Is that starting up the final 400 from the notch? First "move"?
