A co-worker returned from a week in SEKI with his 2 sons, age 4 & 7. First time he & his family have visited the parks.

His 4 year old was so amazed with the trees in Sequoia, he thought dinosaurs lived there. He was concerned a dinosaur was going to come out of the forest and step on him. They managed a 5 mile hike in Sequoia with out being squashed by a dinosaur.

He has not stopped talking about his trip to the "Dinosaur Forest", aka Sequoia National Park. What are the odds of an official name change to Dinosaur Forest/Kings Canyon? wink

To this 4yo, it will always be the Dinosaur Forest.

When this 4yo has children, it will be known as the Dinosaur Forest to them.

When this 4yo becomes POTUS, he can push Congress for the name change. wink

Pretty cute. Most preschoolers really get into the dinosaur kick. ...And then they go on a vacation where the trees are ancient and giant! It has got to be where dinosaurs live!! grin

They should to to Arches N.P. in Utah! I went to Moab on a mountain biking week with friends here about 10 years ago. On one of our rides just outside the park, we were pedaling up a 4wd route, and came upon real dinosaur tracks embedded in the rock formations. Now that was eerie.

I don't have a picture, but found this on Google:

Not sure if it is from the same location -- it is similar, but not what I remember. The bike ride was called the Klondike Bluffs trail, and at the park boundary, we left the bikes and hiked in another half mile to the bluffs. The tracks were somewhere outside the park.
