Hi All,

I had a great summit attempt June 13-14th but my partner got hit with altitude at trail camp. We waited it out to see if he felt better but in the end decided to head down. I'm wondering if anyone happens to be heading up at some point this summer whose partners have changed plans and won't be going? If so I would be happy to tag along or take the permit off your hands. I really want to give it another go!

Groundhog Day #1: AMS hits an awful lot of people about Trail Camp. Better preparation is to spend two nights at altitude before heading up the trail.

Groundhog Day #2: You can pretty easily just walk into the Visitor Center where you picked up your permit, and ask for a No-show permit. Google Unused Whitney Permits. Also look at the Wilderness Permit Options (link on the left) for more info on walk-ins (see box 6 in the WPO).
