Does anyone know if the mountaineers route from The Notch, along the "Traverse" or Easy Walkoff to the summit is snow covered still or clear?

The "Easy" Walkoff is going to be covered with snow all summer and unlikely to be snow free until Summer 2024 at the earliest. It's not "easy" and is more deadly than the final 400 when covered in snow.

Jan:

I did Whitney main trail day hike in June 2019 (lots of snow). It was a failed attempt. I came back in August 2022 and did same trail day hike and reached summit. I can share some information with you. Also, I am doing rim to rim in Oct this Oct and would like to ask you some questions. I can be reached at tpdeluca1@comcast.net if you would like to share information.

Tom

Thanks! I wasn’t saying it’s “easy,” that’s just what it was referred to elsewhere online, but it’s understandably more dangerous and difficult if covered in snow than the final 400.
