Fish, catpapy and I did Wildrose a couple of weeks ago, and the road to the kilns was completely clear. The gate to continue on to Mahogany Flats was closed, so you'll probably have to hoof it. Snowline was right at the kiln-level for the north-facing side and just above 8000 feet for the south-facing. We never needed spikes or full gaiters for Wildrose - the snow was patchy, and occassionally 8-10 inches deep in spots, but quite do-able in just winter boots.

If you get skunked on the big peaks due to weather, I heartily recommend Corkscrew Peak as an alternative. The chance of snow at 5800 feet this time of year is slim. Death Valley Buttes, right in front of Corkscrew, is also a fun 3-hour side trip, with some nice class 3 climbing involved.

Have a blast!
