Sorry for the delayed response. This report is 1 week old. We hiked to Hockett Meadow from the Atwell camp ground. The trail was clear until we started crossing patches of snow at Horse Creek. We crossed the creek and continued to Hockett Meadow the second day. The meadow was completely melted, but the trails surrounding the meadow were still burried under snow, mud, or trees. All of the camping spots we could locate at Hockett meadow were flooded or under snow. The best camp is at Horse Creek.

The biggest concern on this trail was crossing creeks. We took off our boots 5 times to cross creeks and streams. There were also several trees on the trail.

I talked to the rangers at MK and they said the trails were melting out very fast, but people needed to be carefull on creeks and streams. If your not confortable crossing creeks, I would delay your trip by a few weeks.

There were also lots of bugs, but they were not very aggresive.
