Thanks for all the name suggestions. After closer inspection of my hiking buddy, I found a tag on the back paw (foot). This is an official Beanie Baby toy of a husky named Nanook.
I'm more partial to Luna or Wolfie as a name. I liked the name Zeus, but the facial expression doesn't fit. Zeus should have a fierce facial expression.
Anyway, while I try to figure out a name, I was on the trail from the top of the Palm Springs tram towards San Jancito Peak this weekend. Took a lunch break at Wellman Divide and this is the best picture I took of Luna/Wolfie.
