Rosie Heid, now Rosie Breen(Rosabella), was 7 when she climbed Whitney with her Father and several siblings in 1959. Rumor has it that she will be doing a special Whitney climb in October to celebrate a milestone birthday.
I was glad you mentioned that family. I hiked with the Heid's when I was in Boy Scouts. Their twin boys were in my class. I believe Rosie was on at least one of our trips with her dad, who was the scoutmaster. Assuming it's the same Rosie Heid.
