The fire is not in Lone Pine. Fire is way north on tne Sierras and is getting carried south into Whitney on windy days. There was significant ash/dust fallout at Whitney Portal campground on Monday. Tuesday was much better. There was little to none on Wednesday and none on the eastern side on Whitney on Thursday. Our group summited Thursday, July 21st, at 12:30pm and you could see some smoke related haze out west... see photo below...
