All in our group are from Reno/Sparks. My house is above 5,000 ft. One person did have some nausea and a headache that lasted all day and night. Personally I felt no effects of the altitude:no shortness of breath,headache,or nausea. And my appetite was fine all day. I had a sandwich at the summit and a cheeseburger in Lone Pine about 9:45 that night. I'd like to eat at the Portal Store but we started at 3 AM and finished at 8:30 PM.
