MW85, congratulations on your sequential summits. While not my approach to conditioning, I do appreciate those who formulate a goal and work to achieve it.

In a perhaps softer sense, I think the point Bob raises is, indeed, a good one. We all have our different approaches to climbs, hikes, skis, whatever. I enjoy carrying a moderately (or more) heavy pack, taking along some refreshment or treat for myself and/or my partners on whatever we are accomplishing that day.

But generalized statements, such as your "leave your winter gear at home" (or something along those lines), can be interpreted extremely broadly by the wider audience. Remember, there are thousands reading this board daily, and not all have the knowledge, experience, or expertise you may. Many, many more than the mutli-dozen or so who post regularly lurk on all of these forums, searching for information. You'd be amazed at some of the ideas people can generate from a simple turn of phrase.

Just something to perhaps think about.
