Congrats John! Glad you made it, and glad you found someone to share the experience with. Your TR can practically be a sticky for future members who want to know about the route, really good write up. Your observations are spot on.
Don't worry about the Elephant's Ear, it'll give you a reason to go back. First time up there, it took me a good 30 minutes to find the damn thing. It certainly isn't as straightforward the first time around versus the route crossing the creek.
I have to agree, the MR is just more rewarding and beautiful versus the MT IMO. So now that you've done something a little more technical...what's next?
