Every few years, the CHP will drive up and ticket every car parked above the road closed sign. I believe it was just last year a number of people got tickets. Nobody ever reported what the fine was. I think it was just before they were to open the road that this occurred -- perhaps the road clearing crews were annoyed with all the cars trying to drive past.
I have never heard of a car being towed for parking beyond the sign.
