I was fortunate enough to snag permits for a Whitney day hike on July 7th. The timing couldn't be more perfect, with the holiday and days off from work we can head up from southern California on the 3rd and we will have a few days at altitude. I'm looking for suggestions on where to stay. I'm hoping to sleep at the highest elevation possible (in a hotel/motel/cabin) Wednesday through Friday nights and then camp at Horseshoe Meadows Saturday night before our Sunday hike. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
