Shutdown today, debt default tomorrow. Funny, but I don't recall that happening to Bush when he raised the debt through the ceiling. Or any other Republican president for that matter.
The federal deficit is actually shrinking much faster than predicted. It's still big, but headed in the right direction thanks to an improving economy, a slight increase in taxes, lower than expected growth in health care costs, and a small part from the sequestration. We should be happy with this course, not destroying it. Unless of course that's the real mission.
