According to the volunteer I spoke to Saturday, that trail is off limits, period. Mt. San Jacinto State Wilderness Park will not issue a permit for it. I did not speak to the patiently waiting to ticket/arrest the Snow Creek climbers sworn ranger.

If someone has better story than I do, please post it.

Also according to the same volunteer, they have had 169 rescues since 1/1 in the park. The lion share of these rescues are the under prepared and those not having the requisite skill set for what they are attempting.
