You may want to look into stretches and exercises for hip flexors or possibly iliotibial band.

I'm going to start stretching and get back into doing yoga.

Trail conditions were great - no ice at all and a couple short patches of snow near the cables at the switchbacks and a couple longer patches of snow on the west side of the crest during the last 2 miles to the summit.
