For me, it has more to do with fit than type. I wear something between 11 1/2 and 13, with 12 1/2 usually being what fits best. Since very few manufactures make such a size...I've become a not so choosy beggar.
I've been searching for light hikers for 2 years. Nothing seems to fit and I've tried on at least a dozen different styles from most of the usual suspects.
