Yeah the problem is not much elevation where I live. I rely on lots of running or dayhikes with 65 pounds for training. The running really helps for cardio and heavy packs help get the legs into shape. Elevation may be a problem though.

edit: just to add I bet I'll cut the loop in half and just turn the trip into a road trip.
