How much snow is on the west face route and right below Shepherds Pass? No need for crampons/ice-ax?
There is a patch of snow with steps kicked into it just below Shepherd Pass. I crossed it wearing trail runners and using hiking poles before 9 AM and again around 5 PM. I don’t think it would be icy even at 5 AM.
There is snow near the top of the couloir on Williamson, but you can bypass all of it by choosing your route carefully.
