I've never done Whitney from Langley, but have a friend who did it cross country in a day...it was hard. :-)
2600: Are you saying he hiked over to Whitney and back with the Langley area as a base camp, or was it a Cottonwood Lakes to Whitney Portal circuit in a day? Either way, it had to be an epic day! I would like to read the details.
