That's a very good report on your experience.
You had mentioned that you had to take the chute as you didn't find enough marks on the switch back route? I was wondering if you even saw anyone coming by that route?
I come from a similar background as you are, in the sense, I live in Austin, Texas and there aren't too many peaks to train and I am doing something similar to what you had mentioned in one of your earlier posts. I am going to try and summit with a few of my buddies on May 13th.

@Steve C - I have been following the current conditions thread for a while now and noticed that no one took the switch backs and used the chute instead. Is there a very good reason to do that? I have no training with ice axe and was planning on taking the actual trail to summit. Is this a bad idea given I am trying this hike on 13th May ( in about two weeks from now).
