Anyone know if the road is open yet or have any update when it might be? I know Steve had mentioned mid-May and the website still says it is closed. I called Inyo Roads Dept today and no one answered....I'll try the ranger station tomorrow since it is after hours now. I am looking for a dayhike that will be at higher altitude to help acclimatize for my trip to South America in 2 weeks.
