If you already have a reserved permit (which ensures you will get a parking pass to park at Whitney Portal), then when you check in down in Lone Pine at the Visitor Center to pick up your reserved permit(s), just ask for another slot.
There are always no-shows and people dropping some of their reserved slots, so you will be given one of those.
