I would definitely go for the lighter version -- looks like more than a pound of difference, but only a few dollars difference.
I suppose if you were camping in a place where you were only trying to keep the mosquitoes out, the Hubba would be ok. But otherwise, you're probably going to put the fly over it anyway. So the mesh would not matter.
