We woke up Monday am (8,100ft) flew from Salt Lake to Las Vegas and drove to Lone Pine. Picked up permit in afternoon , got some food and about 5 hrs sleep in Lone Pine before starting out early Tuesday morning. Back in Louisiana (no mountains) , I run/ walk , elliptical machine, and kayak. Before Whitney hike, we spent 5 days at altitude around Park City and made about 4 hikes of about 3-5 miles each up to about 11,000ft/ 2,000 vertical.
