I'm curious if you were actually able to measure the wind speed with some type of instrument or was it a guesstiment? I'm not doubting what you reported but would like to know if the wind was in fact gusting that strong, what type of tent (Bomber 4 season?) did you use and did it survive the winds? Did it have to be weighted down, did support poles not stand up, and etc....?
It's good to be able to read first hand reports of tents surviving strong winds that were measured with an instrument. To me it's very hard to judge wind speeds in a location that has no vegetation which can be used as an indication of wind speeds.
