Permits aren't transferable, so your only hope is to be first in line at 11 AM (I think), the day before. Overnight North Fork quota is 10 per day, 4 held back for walk-ins (you).
I believe no-shows are available at 10 AM the day of entry. There is always that possibility.
So, if you are there in person, and get there at the right time, you can get a permit. Please call the Wilderness Permit number 760-873-2483, and verify all of this info. If I'm incorrect, could you please let me know?
