Just made to summit on 7/23.
The recent weather is not good, lot of rain, be sure to carry rain suits.
Micro Spike is not needed at the cable of 99 switchbacks, but nice to have to pass the last 120 feet ice right below the summit.
If you choose the 0.5 miles old trail from the Whitney portal, then merge to main trail, you can keep boots dry while crossing steams, but careful.
