Making my way back down to Riverside from Oregon, and fortunate to have enough time to hit some peaks along the way. I had never done any non-Cascade/volcanic peaks north of Yosemite, and finally got to visit the Tahoe area. Hiked up to Freel Peak on the south rim of Lake Tahoe. Very scenic hike from the Horse Meadow trailhead up to Armstrong Pass, and along the rim trail. Great views, and Freel is definitely a worthy of the SPS list. Tahoe was as impressive as I imagined, though I have to say it is a bit heart breaking to see how developed it is.
