I thought a monocular would be nice to have at times, so I did some research last year and bought a Carson 7 x 32. Optics and field of vision are okay, but it's definitely not the same as a pair of binoculars. It's hard to locate and zero in on your point of interest, and it just doesn't give you nearly as good a view.
