Tommy, how's the trail at Langley? I did Whitney on Labor Day and was thinking about Langley, but don't know if the trail will still be visible with all the snow activity (never been there).
Can't get off work on Friday. I wanted to acclimate partly on the 23rd and going as far up Whitney as possible safely on the 24th if Langley doesn't work out.
Langley is a trail hike until about 12,300'. At that point, one trail becomes 30, literally, as people pick their own route to the mountain. It's not impossible to do by yourself or with friends you haven't done it, it is just going to take you a lot longer.
If snow is going to be an issue, I would utilize New Army Pass. Army can get a bit dicey in less than optimum conditions.
