Post Peak Pass, is, indeed, magnificent. There are some interesting cross-country routes down from there, to lakes that are never visited.

Beasore road is the most frequently traveled way, but definely not the best. Much better is the road from North Fork, Minarets Road, that comes into Beasore a mile or two before Clover Meadow. Paved nearly all the way to the intersection, whereas Beasore is mostly not paved. Plus, it has magnificent views, all the way to the backside of Mammoth, and into the Florence Lake area. The road is longer, but about the same time, and much less dusty.
