What peak were you standing on when you took this?
Great pic, btw.

If future generations are to remember us with gratitude rather than contempt, we must leave them more than the miracle of technology. We must leave them a glimpse of the world as it was in the beginning, not just after we got through with it.

He's on Mt. Barnard, looking s-se toward Mt Whitney. Lakes are Wallace and Wales.

Google Earth view, looking south from Mt. Barnard.

Here's the Gmap4 map.   FullScreen

In case you're interested, I just discovered the link on the GMap4 map menu for "Directions". It opens a browser window with Google Maps in their "Get Directions" mode. That isn't very useful, but clicking the "Earth" icon opens Google Earth. G.E. is hard to use, but with a little playing around, I was able to get the above view.
(I think it is pretty slick! smile )

Hmmm... Are you able to use interactive Google Earth?

It is an imbed sequence provided by Google Earth, so it is linking you directly into GE when you display the thread.

I have Google Earth on the box, but I doubt I have installed anything that uses the browser, or maybe I should just open the firewall - I just instinctively say no to these things unless I initiate them, and in this case I didn't
