Looking at the day's log of pictures ( here ), I saw a bizarre one:

Seems like an airplane with landing lights, but flying in that weather? ....pretty odd.

Here's a better view after the storm cleared:

Click on either picture for the full-size version.

But then I went to check.... There is a folder where the system stores a smaller picture for video use taken every 60 seconds. Here is the sequence from that set. (no full size available)

This one from the WPS webcam record. It shows the light, so at least it gives a better pinpoint of where it was, since that webcam is zoomed in much more. Second picture is for reference. Joel Baldwin's archive shows a larger view here.

there was a fullish moon yesterday. The question is if the moon would have been in the western sky at 6am yesterday.

That has to be the full moon. It was a full moon Friday 2/18/11. When there is a full moon it rises in the East as the Sun sets in the West.Same thing is the Moon sets in the West as the Sun Rises in the East. The timing would be perfect for a setting of the 1 day past the full moon as the Sun was coming up 2/19/11.

1 The full moon is a lunar phase occurring when the moon is on the opposite side of the earth from the sun and all three bodies are aligned in a straight line. Viewed from earth, the near side of the moon is fully illuminated by the sun giving it the familiar circular appearance.
