If that really supports 250lbs, I am kinda impressed.
One day I'd like to hike the entire John Muir Trail and not leave a single footprint. -Randy Morgenson

It would be nice if there were a privacy spot set up at Outpost and Trail Camp with one of those.
But unfortunately, I am sure it would be less than a day that some jerk would just leave his wag bag there for somebody else to remove.

I bought one about 2 years ago along with extra supplies in order to deal with my girlfriends special issues. It was well constructed. However, after she saw WAG bags for the 1st time she gave them a try and the toliet was never used (only after we took it up and down the mountain ). So, now it serves as a nice tool for car camping or when I am field testing out in the desert. Also the biodegradable supplies are not suitable for use on Whitney. You need to use the WAG bags (possibly with the fiberglass frame and seat) in order to safely pack it out.

thanks for that first hand report.
Our circle of hikers from age 56-71 ordered four but have not used yet. I'm surprised (as the inventor told me) that there has not been much interest in the backpacking community. Perhaps the higher average age quoted above is not typical backpacker! LOL

> clever, lightweight 18 oz foldable wilderness toilet. (PS this is not a joke) great knee saver...> I'm surprised (as the inventor told me) that there has not been much interest in the backpacking community.Harvey, "lightweight 18 oz" is an oxymoron in my book. That thing weighs twice as much as my backpack!

yeah but Steve 18 oz compares to the 6 lb ones that bolts on to the back of your boat or pickup truck bumper (no kidding).
my wife (who has a Go-Girl) thought she would be laughed at when she discovered the 18 oz throne. No laughing - our friends added to the order.
I catch grief for carrying a small camp stool (um...the chair), but you are right. Going light is an eye-opener and has allowed me to do things at times that otherwise would have been harder.

This thing would be nice for backcountry trail crews or generally people wanting to base camp in one location for some time.
