More so than any other mountain I have visited, Shasta seems to produce Lenticulars at an astounding rate. I have an album of old-fashioned photographs of Shasta, and even in late May, the Lenticulars are huge and dramatic. WHen they say that the mountain makes its own weather, it is an understatement (a really strange experience to see clear blue skies in all directions, and Shasta will be engulfed in a storm.
