I dunno. If there isn't a yellow brick road, with porto-potties every 10 feet, folks might still get lost.

Seriously, the signs look good.

I was standing on the PCT near Lower Rock Creek Crossing a decade ago, when this guy comes up with map in hand and asks, how do I get to the PCT? My response...You are standing on it. His response...No, really how to I get to the PCT. This went on a couple of more times until I just walked away.

Akichow, they would still be people who would get lost with all the aforementioned plus a neon sign.

Almost didn't read this updated thread - am glad I did. Whether Bob R's letter triggered the replacements or not - they seem to be an improvement. And the old signs were still in place when I was there on June 8th.

As has been noted many times before - if you're not paying attention, it's easier to walk down towards Guitar Lake than make the uphill turn to the right and continue on to the summit. I was a few feet behind someone on the 8th, and almost followed him down myself. He caught himself after about 20', turned back and we looked at each other sheepishly realizing we weren't paying attention.

KevinR, I am sure Bob R's letter prompted the action. I attended a SEKI planning meeting last fall, and asked the rangers there. They spoke of his letter and said they were working on the situation.
