There has been much discussion on various forums for over a year about the veracity of a picture Tony Immoos took from Hall Road in Turlock showing Half Dome, El Cap. etc.
Here is a short video taken from the very spot the still picture was taken.
Look at the picture here first then the video:

Please bear in mind that he had a 2billion megapixel DSLR and I was using a 1 mega pixel Sony VX2000 video camera.

Great video. Definitely proves the legitimacy of the original picture. I've read most all of the posts on at least two different MBs at different times, on which this subject was posted and debated to death. This video would have resolved all of that discussion before it ever began.

I didn't doubt the picture, when your on those peaks you can clearly see the valley.

Consider this picture I took at night on Clouds Rest:

If you can see the valley they can see the peak.

Here's that beautiful fake picture.   Very nice! Even the moonlight was perfect.

Thanks for posting your video, Mike. I started that thread last year on the other board. Sometime I'll bring it over.

Last week we had that once-a-year spectacularly clear weather, and I was thinking I'd like to get up there just to see that view. I'd like sometime to make a quick stop right on the 99 at the Keys Road overpass (Stanislaus State U. exit) and see if I could get a picture. That overpass is right in line with the view.

I'll contact Tony Immoos to show him your video.

Edit: Here's the info now on this forum:  Half Dome From Denair CA

...and I stole it from Steve and exported it over to yet another board, and I believe the thread holds the record for the most posts!

The body betrays and the weather conspires, hopefully, not on the same day.
