My family met up with some folks to go see the wildflowers in Ridgecrest. It was a fun day and my family really enjoyed it. Here are some highlights and a link to the rest of my photos:

Nice - looks like the flowers are in better shape there. The ones in Ridgecrest may be mostly gone in a week or two.

For such a draught-stricken area, the wildflowers were surprising. Although they are a lot earlier than normal years.
In two months the area will be a bone-dry tinder box.

Nice bench - innovative use of wood connection hardware.
Oh, and the flowers are pretty and the kid is cute and its very scenic. All that goes without saying, wrote the engineer.
