Mt Whitney Zone Forums Trip Reports Hiking with Dogs: Blue Mountain, November 8 2015

I wasn't able to head out for a 'real' hike the last two weekends, but was able to get away for an hour or two.

Do you guys have a local hill or mountain that you use for training or for when you can't get away for the day?

Oh, and I used to do Azusa Peak, known more colloquially as the Garcia Trail. It was about 1,200ft in 1.25 miles.

Then some jack-wagon teens burned the entire mountainside, and Garcia has been closed for 3 years indefinitely.

Another favorite was The Beast in SCV. 10 mi RT with about 2,400 elev. +/- to Los Pinetos Radio Tower #1.
